New Bible story

I discovered a new story in the Bible as I was reading my One Year Bible reading plan yesterday!

Did you know that Jesus' miracle of feeding the 5000 is not the first miracle like that?

It's true - check out Elisha and the feeding of the 100!

2 King 4:42-44 A man came from Baal Shalishah, bringing the man of God twenty loaves of barley bread baked from the first ripe grain, along with some heads of new grain. "Give it to the people to eat," Elisha said."How can I set this before a hundred men?" his servant asked. But Elisha answered, "Give it to the people to eat. For this is what the Lord says: 'They will eat and have some left over.' " Then he set it before them, and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the Lord.

Here is the feeding of the five thousand and the feeding of the four thousand.

I just think that's really cool. :)

And it's also really sad that I didn't know this story was in the Bible. I'm really glad I decided to read through the whole thing. This is not the first new story I've come across and I'm sure it won't be the last!

Since committing to reading through the Bible in its entirety last year, I've discovered many stories I didn't know existed. It's been exciting and kinda sad all at the same time!!

I am following the same plan! I am embarrassed by the number of new stories I have read. I have also been reminded about some stories that I knew but had completely forgotten about.
